Forum on the Trend and Changes of Medical Equipment Industry

In 2015 China’s economy has entered New Normal. The medical equipment industry, as one of the fastest developingindustries, has faced many challenges and sever tasks such to stabilize development and restructure the industry. On 3, 1415, 2015, the Forum on the trend and changes of medical equipment industry (or tour of EMBA of Antai College to companies) was cohost by EMBA of Antai College of Economics& Management and Stryker, in Changzhou, Jiangsu province. Government officials and representatives from the medicine equipment industry, together with over 100 alumni of Jiao Tong University attended this forum, and changed views about the opportunities and challenges for the medicine equipment industry in New Normal.

Fang Guoqiang (deputy mayor of Changzhou), Wu Rukang (executive president of Shanghai Medical Equipment Association), Gu Bolin (vice president of council of Shanghai Biomedical Engineering Society), Qian Fuqing (vice president of China Medical Equipment Industry Association, founder of Chuang Sheng Co., Ltd), Wang Aiguo (chairman and general manager of Chuang Sheng Co., Ltd), Wan Guohua (vice president of ACEM), Fei Yiwen (professor of ACEM program EMBA), Zhou Ying (vice professor of ACEM), Lu Xu (executive president of SJTU alumni investment club), Zhu Jian (chairman of Suzhou De Zai medical equipment Co., Ltd), Song Xiaodong (senior researcher of Chuang Sheng Co., Ltd), Chen Jiakang (general marketing manager of Chuang Sheng Co., Ltd) and Rui Yong (general market and clinical inspector of Chuang Sheng Co., Ltd) attended this forum.

Professor Wan Guohua said in his speech “for one hundred years, SJTU has always insisted innovation and reformation as the main force of the development of our university.” This event aimed to strengthen the connect of alumni when we learnt from the successful experiences of each other to offer intelligent support for alumni companies, even the industry it belonged to so as to build a platform for constant communication and learning for EMBA students.

Wu Rukang (executive president of Shanghai Medical Equipment Association) and Wang Aiguo (chairman and general manager of Chuang Sheng Co., Ltd) made speeches subsequently to wish the event a success. Dr. Wang stressed in his speech that human played a significant role in the process of corporate transformation, technical innovation, change in business mode and overseas deploitation while talents cultivating in the economic development trend is the core value of Chuang Sheng and the target of business schools. He hoped further cooperation and communication with SJTU in the future.

Brainstorming of the development and M&A trend of Chuang Sheng, opportunities and challenges faced with medical equipment industry and the revolution 3D print technology brought to medical equipment industry were hosted by Wu Rukang, Gu Bolin, Qian Fuqing, Wang Aiguo, Fei Yiwen, Zhou Ying, Lu Xu, Zhu Jian, Song Xiaodong, Chen Jiakang and Rui Yong during the forum.
