Luo Xin fromSMG hosted the form.

Ma Dexiu expressed his gratitude to those who attended the forum. He said,“Alumni are the most valuable and precious resources of alma mater, whose development must rely on the support and help of alumni. Thanks to what the ACEMhas done, alumni of ACEM are tied together and we should do more to gathering the strength of alumni for a brighter future.”

Ma Yili was glad to be invited to this gathering. She had organized charity forums from the perspective of the government for several times and was in full understanding of the relationships between charity and entrepreneurs. She affirmed the meaning of this forum and hoped with the help of all of the people attending, charity shall be offered more attention in SJTU.

The first part is the charity forum of alumni. As the first guest to make a speech, Yao Ming made a speech of the importance of enterprise management in charity. He shared the experiences and reflections of the past years in the process of providing public services and discussed in-depth the one-sided charity of “loon charity” and “save the urgent rather than the poor”. He believed saving the poor –whether they were enterprise or individuals--was the biggest mission of charity. What we should do is to realize the sustainable development by organizing pertinent and adaptable charity programs.

“Passing on loves” is the speech made by the second guest speaker Xu Jianping. As a senior manager in financial circles, he has devoted to charities like health and education for years. He shared his understanding of charity by citing quotes of Mengzi, Laotse and Fei Xiaotong. Xu hoped to promote further the “Dream Charity Fund” and the development of China’s philanthropy.

Wang Junhao made a speech themed “Corporate Philanthropy is Part of the Missions”. He always put social responsibilities into the growth of his enterprise and is ready to offer help anytime.

The last guest to make a speech is Yu Miao, who shared his charity experiences through the speech named “Encounter in the Mountains”. He showed the audiences the pictures he took of the lives of children when he acted as a teacherin Guizhou Province. Helplessness and difficulties were hidden behind their smiles, which also lit the fire of philanthropy.

The second part was the charity forum of entrepreneurs. Wang Zhenyao, Xu Xinhai, Deng Fei and Dou Ruigang discussed the issue of charity from the perspective of entrepreneurs. In the round table discussion, Wang Zhenyao, A Yan, LiXia (president of the Yuan Bo Education Group), Li Ziqiang (president of Jiao Xiang Yue (Shanghai) Investment Management Co., Ltd) joined the discussion of “how to become a philanthropist as an entrepreneur?” Ma Kaigui (president of North America Alumni Association of SJTU) and Tang Mingde (greatgrandson of the 11th president of SJTU) also made a statement with passion. The forum came to a successful conclusion and motivated people to rethink philanthropy.
