Overview of Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), as one of the higher education institutions which enjoy a long history and a world-renowned reputation in China, is a key university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education (MOE) of the People's Republic of China and co-constructed by MOE and Shanghai Municipal Government. Through some 122 years' unremitting efforts, SJTU has become a comprehensive, research-oriented, and internationalized top university with good reputation inside and outside China.

At the end of the 19th century, born in frustration by the defeat of the Sino-Japanese war in the late Qing Dynasty, facing crisis ofChinesenation, Nan Yang College, the predecessor of Jiao Tong University, was founded in 1896 by Sheng Xuanhuai, a famous modern industrialist and educator in China, and a group of people of insight with the belief that "to build a strong nation, it is crucial to preserve talents, and to preserve talents we must first educational system".At the beginning of its foundation, SJTU has adhered to the aim of "seeking truth from facts and practicing pragmatism", with its educational goal of cultivating "first-class talents", working with diligence, enterprising and perseverance. In the 1920s and 1930s, it became a famous institution of higher education in China, also known as "Oriental MIT".

By December 2018, SJTU has had 30 schools/departments, 31 research institutions, 13 affiliated hospitals, 2 affiliated medical research institute, 12 directly affiliated units and 6 directly affiliated enterprises, with 16,129 undergraduates and 30,217 postgraduates (14,439 master degree candidates and 7,882 doctorate degree candidates), 2,982 overseas students (among which 1,698 are postgraduates). The university faculty includes 3,061 full-time teachers (among which 982 are professors), 22 members of Chinese Academy of Sciences, 22 members of Chinese Academy of Engineering, 144 Distinguished Professors and Chair Professors of "Cheung Kong Scholar Program", 144 winners of China National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists, 24 chosen in "Young Talents Program"，28 in Cheung Kong Youth Scholar, 86 selected in "Outstanding Youth Science Foundation", 36 Chief Scientists of the Major State Basic Research Development Program of China (973 Program), 14 Chief Scientists of the State Key Scientific Research Program, 16 Innovation Research Groups, National Natural Science Foundation of China and 20 Innovation Teams, MOE, 73 winners of National Key R&D Program of China.

Brief Introduction of Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University

The history of Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM), Shanghai Jiao Tong University can date back to Nanyang Senior Business School in 1903. And then the Railway Management Department of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was established in 1918. In 1979, the Industrial Management Engineering Department was established, and the Management Major was rehabilitated. In 1984, reconstruction of Management School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University was approved by the Ministry of Education. In 1996, Aetna International Group of USA invested and constructed Management School with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and later in 2000, the School changed its name to Shanghai Jiao Tong University Antai College of Economics and Management. In March 2006, the College changed its name to Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Introduction of Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University EMBA Program.

In 2002, with approval of Office of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), became one of the first colleges allowed to have EMBA education. The program upholds traditional and unique SJTU spirit of “When heaven and earth unite in deep harmony, peace and blessing descend upon all living things; when leaders and people unite and combine their influences, the nation enjoys universal flowering and prosperity”, taking "contribute management wisdom, cultivate the moral leaders for economic and social development" as the mission to educate leaders with global perspective, strategic thinking, excellent leadership and sense of social responsibility.

In autumn of 2014, the Programlaunched the new EMBA curriculum system, consolidating the characteristics of SJTU, and newly established "Innovation +, Finance +, Internet +" and "Exploration of SJTU" modules to enhance the connotation of the three integrated projects and realize the combination of business and industry as well as industrial docking. After more than ten years' forging ahead, with more than 5,500 outstanding alumni from various industries constituting the most influential and valuable global elite alumni network in China, EMBA of SJTU has become the best platform for excellent entrepreneurs to learn systematically. In 2005, the Program came out in the top group in the first official evaluation by Office of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee on EMBA education

In 2008, the treatise EMBA integrated teaching mode exploration of the practice and thinking about company profit model in Shanghai Jiao Tong University EMBA Program won the Commemoration of 30 years of reform and opening, China's MBA education and innovation seminar Outstanding Treatise Award.

In 2012, the Program took the lead to get the China High Quality MBA Certification.

In 2018, the Master of Business Administration of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (MBA and EMBA) received the highest A+ rating in the results of the first national professional degree assessment published by the Ministry of Education.

Market Reputations

From 2007 to 2010, the Program was consecutively ranked at the first place for four years among the Leading EMBA in Chinese Market.
